In 1980 Michael obtained his accounting degree from LSU, and in 1989 received his Masters in Business Administration also from LSU. In 1981 Michael passed all four parts of the CPA exam; a feat achieved by only 10% of US candidates. Michael was named one of Baton Rouge's top "40 Under 40" by the Baton Rouge Business Report in 1995. Michael is licensed with the State of Louisiana to sell life and health insurance. He is also a registered representative of Lincoln Financial Investments and holds a series 6 license. His professional organizations include the Louisiana Society of CPAs, the AICPA, the Baton Rouge and St. Tammany West Chambers of Commerce, the Baton Rouge Better Business Bureau and the EBR Lions Club (past President). Michael was born in New Orleans and has lived in Baton Rouge for over 50 years. His hobbies include LSU sports, golf, travel, and spending time with family and friends. He and his wife Laura, a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Tenured Full Professor at LSU, are members of Grace Life Church. Michael and Laura have a son, Benjamin, and a daughter, Abigail.

At Michael Choate Associates CPAs, Dayna's first priority is assuring every client receives exceptional customer service and prompt attention. Dayna joined the firm in 2015. She brings over 30 years of experience to the office. For much of her career, Dayna worked in the financial services industry. She also has extensive experience in non-profit accounting and worked several years for other local accounting firms. Dayna specializes in Small Business Accounting as well as new business development.
A native of Avoyelles Parish, Dayna attended Louisiana State University, Alexandria. She also attended Spencer Business College earning an Associate Degree in Business. Dayna enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Tish Ledoux is a CPA in the Baton Rouge office. With over twelve years of experience in public accounting, her passion is helping small business owners and bookkeepers to navigate the world of tax and accounting. She received her Bachelors of Science in Finance in 2003 from Louisiana State University and later obtained her CPA license in 2010. Tish specializes in small business tax and accounting as well as QuickBooks consulting. She has been a QuickBooks Proadvisor for over eight years and works with businesses and individuals with QuickBooks Desktop, Online and Point of Sale. She is also a member of the AICPA and LCPA.
Tish resides in Baton Rouge with her husband, and two children. Her pastimes include crafting, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Laura started with the firm in 2019. She is responsible for client accounting, payroll, and individual income tax projects. Laura graduated Cum Laude from LSU & Magna Cum Laude from University High in Baton Rouge. Laura has passed the CPA exam and is awaiting the necessary work hours to get her license.
In her spare time, Laura likes to read and enjoys long walks with her dogs.
Benjamin arrived on scene June 23, 2003. He helps with employee morale and entertaining clients and friends of the firm. He is not responsible for any accounting or tax services at this time, but shows great future potential. Benjamin is projected to graduate from college in 2025.
Benjamin is an I.T. expert in areas that average adults cannot comprehend (i.e. his parents). He has his own YouTube channel, and enjoys VR adventures and computer games. Ben is an excellent student and avid reader.
Abigail arrived on the scene June 6, 2005. Although she does not currently handle any client accounts, she shows outstanding potential for future growth. Abigail is expected to graduate from college in 2027.
Like most new employees, her favorite pastimes include staring into space, snacking and playing with personal toys. She keeps abreast of important events with her friends via technology and social media. Abby enjoys art, choir, acting and school plays.
